Washing dishes, daydreaming, I am taken back to the kitchens of my childhood. Embroidered dishtowels, licking the batter from a spoon, and stealing cookies while no one is looking is where my mind wanders. Beyond the kitchen, watching grandma knit, playing in the bedroom, fascinated with the pictures on the handkerchiefs tucked in the drawer. Everyday household objects are the vehicles for childhood memories.

My work explores domestic items and memories. The fragility and translucency of glass materializes these delicate recollections of home and childhood. I recreate common household tools and objects exploring women’s roles from previous generations of my family. Through the recreation of these objects, I am connecting with a memory of generations past and present.
